Each match closes 15 minutes before kick-off. Until then you can change your pick; after the close it stays as it is.

It fills only the matches you have not called, and only when you ask, with picks prepared from your own history once you have ten. They can be wrong. Nothing is written until you confirm, and you can change any of them until it closes. In the iPhone app, a shake does the same.

Every pick stays hidden until the match closes; you only see how many are in. At the close they all open at once, on Picks.

Yes, with an emoji, once their match has closed: tap the button at the end of their row on Matches, or their cell on Picks, and choose one of seven. One each; tap another to change it, the same one to take it back. Reactions on your own picks reach you gathered: up to three notifications a day, never at night; the rest wait in your inbox.

Yes. A match being played leads Matches with its score and minute, and what every pick would earn if it ended like this. Both run a few minutes behind, hence the ~. Nothing counts until the final whistle.

You can pick it anyway. It closes at the start of its match day, at midnight UTC.

Each honour asks who has scored the most points in one corner of the season. When a week settles and someone has passed the holder, the honour moves to them, and it can be taken back.

The shape of how you predict, read from what you actually wrote. Everyone in a group has a different one, and nobody is ranked by it.

Dictum is Latin for something said: firm, and on record. Add us, and it’s ours. Dictumus is what we said before kick-off, kept all season.

Tap Start a tournament, choose the competition, give it a name and the number of players, then start it. Invitations open once it has started; only matches after the start count.

Tap the tournament’s name at the top, open the group and choose Invite a friend. Send the link wherever your group talks.

Yes, at any point. Matches that closed before they joined count neither for nor against them.

A tournament for you alone, free, against Machine I to V, who pick at random. Nobody joins it and nothing carries over. It ends with its season. You can have up to three at once, one per competition; delete one in its Settings to start another. Their picks are drawn without seeing yours and open with yours when each match closes.

In the group, choose Leave this tournament. You stay in the table marked as left, with no further penalties; your honours change hands at the next settlement. If you started it, it passes to whoever joined first. If you started it and you're alone in it, or no match in it has closed yet, you can choose Delete this tournament instead; everyone in it gets an email.

In the Group tab, tap ⋯ at the end of their row. Mute hides their reactions to your picks, and the notifications about them, in that tournament; they are not told. Report sends it to us: a person looks within 3 days and writes to you. For the tournament's name, tap ⋯ on its tile; for a shared card, Report this card at the foot of its page.

No. Nobody puts money in and nobody is handed anything. Just the right to say “I told you so”.

In the Dictumus app: Settings › Notifications, then allow them when your phone asks. In a browser: Turn them on in Settings › Notifications. On an iPhone in the browser, first add Dictumus to the home screen (Share › Add to Home Screen) and open it from there. That is the only way an iPhone lets a web app notify.

Change the language in Settings › Language. Match times follow your time zone, under Settings › Your account › Time zone.

Under Settings › Your account › Data and privacy you can download everything kept about you as one file, or delete your account. Deleting removes everything and cannot be undone. Can't sign in any more? Write to support@dictumus.com from your account's address and we delete it within 30 days.

On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot your password? and follow the link in the e-mail. Check the spam folder too.
