Terms
The agreement between you and Dictumus: what the game is, how to play it fairly, and what happens when things end.
Version 2026-10-30
Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and Özgün Özsoy, an individual based in Türkiye, at PO Box 10, Kağıthane PTT, 34407 Kağıthane, Istanbul, Türkiye, who runs Dictumus ("we", "us"). Write to support@dictumus.com about the game and to privacy@dictumus.com about your data.
You accept these terms when you create an account. How we use your data is in the privacy policy; accepting these terms is not consent to anything the privacy policy asks your consent for.
What Dictumus is
Dictumus runs private score-prediction tournaments: a group predicts the scores of a football competition over a season, and the app keeps the table, the honours and the group's history.
There is no betting, nothing is staked, and there are no prizes. Points and honours have no money value and cannot be exchanged for anything. Do not use Dictumus to organise, collect or settle bets of any kind, private ones among friends included.
Dictumus is not an official service of any club, league or competition.
Your account
You must be 16 or over. If the law where you live needs a parent's or guardian's permission for you to agree to these terms, you must have it.
One account per person, with an email address you can receive mail at. Keep your password to yourself and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
Choose names that do not pretend to be someone else, reveal someone's private information, insult anyone or break the law.
Dictumus is free
Dictumus is free today: there are no purchases, charges or subscriptions in it.
If we ever offer something paid, we will say beforehand what it is, what it costs and your rights, and nothing will be charged without a separate purchase you make yourself. What is free today will not be charged for after the fact.
Playing fair
Play as yourself: no second accounts to fill a table, no picks made by outside tools or scripts, no attempts to get into someone else's account or to see picks before their match closes, no use of a fault to get ahead, and nothing that disrupts the service.
The rules and scoring shown in the app are the rules of the game. If they change in a way that matters, we say so in advance, and never change a result already settled to anyone's disadvantage.
Results and corrections
Fixtures and results come from Highlightly, checked against football-data.org. Kick-off times can change, and results can be corrected after a match; when they are, points are worked out again. A postponed match counts when it is played; a cancelled one does not count.
We take reasonable care to run the game and put right the faults we learn of, but we cannot promise that a third party's data will always be on time or free of errors.
What you put in
Your names and reactions are yours; you let us show them in the game and on the cards you choose to share, and nothing more.
A card you share can be opened and forwarded by anyone with its link, and stays until you delete your account or ask us to take it down. Copies made outside Dictumus may remain.
Reports and restrictions
To report a player's name or reactions, or a tournament's name, tap ⋯ on their row in the Group tab, or on the tournament's tile, and choose Report. You get a receipt at once. To report a shared card, use Report this card at the foot of its page, or write to support@dictumus.com with a link or enough to find it, and why you believe it breaks the law or these terms; we confirm when we read it. A person decides within 3 days, the same day where someone may be at risk, and answers a challenge within 7 days.
We look at every report. We normally warn first and give a chance to put things right; we act at once only where that is needed to protect people or the service, or where the law requires it. Whatever we do is in proportion.
If we remove something of yours or restrict your account, we tell you what, why, under which rule and for how long, and how to challenge it. Reply to that message or write to support@dictumus.com and a person will look at it again. This takes nothing away from any other remedy the law gives you.
You can also mute a player: their reactions to your picks stop showing to you and stop notifying you in that tournament. They are not told.
The creator of a tournament can remove a player from it, for example someone a forwarded link let in. Everyone in that tournament sees who removed whom, the removed player is told in the app and by email, and that tournament's link no longer lets them back in.
Leaving, deleting, and ending
You can leave a tournament at any time; you stay in its table with the points you had, marked as gone.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, then Your account, then Data and privacy. What that removes is set out in the privacy policy and at dictumus.com/delete-account.
If we decide to close Dictumus, we will tell you in the app and by email at least 60 days before, unless a serious security or legal reason forces us to be quicker, and you will be able to download your data first.
Our responsibility
Dictumus is a game for fun. We run it with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility the law does not allow us to limit, nor any right you have as a consumer.
Law, disputes and language
Turkish law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer, you also keep every protection the law where you live gives you, and you can take a dispute to the courts, consumer bodies or other procedures available to you there.
These terms are offered in the languages the app supports. If two of them differ, the reading more favourable to you applies.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms when the law, security or the game changes. We tell you in the app at least 30 days before a change that matters, and why, unless an urgent legal or security reason means sooner. If you do not agree, you can stop playing and delete your account. The version is at the top of this page.
